A Note to Coaches

Your challengers are getting ready to start a transformational journey of self-expression, confidence, and FUN! Barre Blend is about stretching and strengthening your body as well as your mind, and it’s a powerfully effective workout that will make you sweat as much as it will make you smile. With you as their leader, your challengers are sure to make progress toward their health and fitness goals.

As their Coach, you’ll want to encourage your challengers to commit to the entire 60-day Barre Blend program. Although people tend to be more consistent when they do their workouts in the morning, there’s no wrong way to do Barre Blend. As long as they get their workouts done and stay active in your Challenge Group it’ll be a great experience for everyone.

The most important thing for you as a Coach is to stay engaged with your challengers. Celebrate, motivate, and encourage them to do their best all the way through. You have the chance to create a super-supportive, judgment-free community. Share your own journey and ask them to share with the group.

It’s your passion and enthusiasm that will help everyone succeed!

BARRE BLEND PREP WEEK, DAY 2

What makes Barre Blend so special? It helps you create a lean, toned physique through a fun fusion of ballet barre, Pilates, and cardio interval training. As a former professional dancer and current fitness instructor, Elise knows how to design the very best barre workouts that also get amazing results! Barre Blend is a great low-impact, high-energy program that can help you get a total-body transformation.

Here’s how the Barre Blend program works:

  • You’ll do 5 workouts a week over 8 weeks. It’s an ideal schedule for optimal results.
  • The workouts start at 30 minutes and progress up to 40 minutes for a bigger challenge as you get leaner, stronger, and fitter.
  • Elise designed Barre Blend in 4 phases, changing up the moves and level of difficulty every 2 weeks to make sure you keep seeing results.

Have you found the Barre Blend program on Beachbody On Demand yet? Once you log in, you should see the Barre Blend tile on your homepage. Or you can navigate to Workouts (top menu) and find the Barre Blend program tile in the workout programs library. Just click through and you’ll see the Overview, Workout List, and Program Materials sections. All of the content is available in English, Spanish, and French.

One thing that makes this program so unique is the “I AM” Daily Motivation Cards. Elise created these powerful cards with her best uplifting and life-changing motivational phrases to help you get inspired and set a positive intention every single day. She pulls a new card before every workout, and you can use that one as your daily affirmation. Or you can choose your own card. There are so many different ways to use them! Here are some more ideas for how to use your cards:

  • Choose one card every morning when you wake up to create a positive mindset and purpose for the day.
  • Shuffle the cards and pull one at random any time you want to feel more intentional.
  • Write your own daily affirmation on the 5 blank cards to create your own motivations.

These cards help you stay mindful and invest your energy where it matters most!

BARRE BLEND PREP WEEK, DAY 3

Welcome to prep day 3!

Today I want to talk about how I’ve structured our Challenge Group:

Coach Tip

Explain how specifically you have structured the group: how you’re following the Workout Calendar, when you plan on posting to the group, etc. You should encourage your challengers to drink Shakeology every day, even on days they don’t work out.

Now is a good time to take your “before” photos and measurements. I know it can feel a little scary, but that’s how you’ll track your progress and see how far you’ve come! And if you keep track of your photos, weight, and measurements throughout the program, you can enter the Beachbody Challenge once you’re done by visiting BeachbodyChallenge.com. When you enter and submit your results, you’ll also receive a free gift (while supplies last) to celebrate your success. The website also has great tips on how to take those photos and measurements, so go check it out.

Do you have the right equipment for your Barre Blend workouts? Here’s what you’ll need:

  1. Light dumbbells: Most people use from 1 to 3 pounds, depending on their strength and fitness level. You can use up to 5-pound weights if you’re more advanced.
  2. Beachbody Resistance Loops: These are optional, but Elise uses them to ramp up the intensity—and the burn!
  3. Beachbody Barre Socks: These are also optional, but they help you grip the floor better so you can improve your form. You may find them helpful if you work out on a hard surface.

BARRE BLEND PREP WEEK, DAY 4

Let’s talk about nutrition.

The best way to get the results you want from Barre Blend is by making sure your nutrition is on point. The Beachbody Guide to Nutrition is a great tool to get you started. I know meal prep requires a little time and energy, but honestly, taking an hour or two to shop and prep my meals makes a HUGE difference for me during the week! I’m never without healthy options and I can focus on the things that matter. If you’re new to meal prepping, your Beachbody Guide to Nutrition has tips that are perfect for beginners. Check it out!

If you’re really serious about losing weight, you might want to try either 2B Mindset or Ultimate Portion Fix, the premium nutrition programs from Beachbody. If you haven’t chosen one yet, here’s a quick overview of each:

Today’s workout is Core Blend. Have you SEEN Elise’s abs? Amazing! This workout will sculpt your entire core while strengthening and toning the rest of your body at the same time.

Let’s end this week strong with a leg-focused workout. Your muscles will be shaking and quaking by the time you finish this one. It really targets your glutes, hamstrings, and thighs.

You made it through five workouts! Awesome job! Today is your first Rest & Replenish day. You can choose to replenish your mind and body without doing a workout, or you can do one of the Yoga Blend workouts or any (or all) of the 10-Minute Enhancement workouts from the Barre Blend Workout List on Beachbody On Demand.

Elise believes that taking time to properly recover is an important component of living up to your full potential. You can’t pour from an empty cup, and you won’t be your best unless you refill your energy. She advocates slowing down and taking a moment of contemplation to silence the noise of daily life so you can give your attention to the things that really matter.

BARRE BLEND WEEK 1, REST & REPLENISH

Happy Sunday, everyone! It’s another rest day, but I really recommend doing the Roll & Replenish workout. This one helps replenish your tired muscles with a foam roller to reduce soreness and help speed recovery.

Have you done your grocery shopping for next week? Planning is half the battle, but it leads to great rewards! So make sure to stock up on healthy foods that give you energy for your workouts—and life. And don’t forget to do some meal prep. Even just cutting up your vegetables in advance saves you lots of time during the week.

Share what’s on your grocery list for the week. You never know who you might inspire!

COACH TIP: Take the time to recognize the efforts of someone in your group. Not only will you help that person feel good, you’ll also encourage everyone else to stay consistent with the program for the next week.

BARRE BLEND WEEK 2, CARDIO BLEND 2

You know what’s so great about Barre Blend? You get to channel your inner dancer and feel graceful, while sweating like crazy and toning your entire body! I don’t consider myself a great dancer, but something about the flow of these workouts makes me think I could be on stage. 😉

I want you to take that feeling of joy into today’s Cardio Blend workout.

How’s your hunger level? I know when I start a new workout program I sometimes feel a little extra hungry. But I don’t want to ruin all my progress, so I try to eat something nutritious. Lately I’ve been grabbing a BEACHBAR in the afternoon. It has 9–10 grams of protein and ingredients you know and trust, like creamy nut butters, real chocolate chips, and crunchy protein crisps. Plus, it’s just 150 calories. If you’re doing Ultimate Portion Fix it only counts as ½ red, ½ yellow, and 1 tsp. And it’s so good!

This morning my “I AM” Daily Motivation Card was “I AM Present.” That’s the mood you should take in today’s core workout. You need to stay focused to get through this one!

Speaking of being present, are you using the Beachbody On Demand app to track your daily meals, water intake, and Shakeology? I find it so much easier to log everything as I go rather than all at once in the evening. It helps me check in with myself throughout the day, which keeps me present. And if you’re doing 2B Mindset or Ultimate Portion Fix, the app gives you even more ways to track your progress.

BARRE BLEND WEEK 2, LEAN LEGS BLEND 2

Can you believe we’re already winding down our second week of Barre Blend? How much fun is this program? Today is your second Lean Legs Blend workout. If you want, you can try some of the moves without the barre (or chair, or whatever sturdy object you’re using). It’s a great test of your balance and muscle control.

Let’s explore this workout with an open heart and celebrate what our bodies can do!

Sometimes I like to mix up my Shakeology and try a new recipe so I don’t get stuck in a rut. Lately my favorite is [COACH: ADD YOUR FAVORITE SHAKEOLOGY RECIPE]. It tastes like an indulgence but I feel good knowing I’m putting such awesome nutrition into my body.

BARRE BLEND WEEK 2, REST AND REPLENISH

Ahhh, a rest and replenish day! I’ve been looking forward to doing the 15-Minute Yoga Blend workout to stretch and relax my tired muscles. Which one are you going to do today? Are you going to add any other workouts? You may have noticed in your Get Started Guide that you can do any of the Classic Full Body Blend workouts on your rest day if you feel up to it. MONDAY FUNDAY. You guys, this is our final phase of Barre Blend! The workouts are a little longer now, about 40 minutes each. Grab some Energize and let’s take up lots of space and fully express ourselves in every workout.

Today’s workout is Classic Full Body Blend 7. You know the moves, you have the confidence and the attitude. Show it off!

I’m so proud of every single one of you for making it this far, but I want to say a little something about “expectations.” Often in my groups I see people comparing their progress to someone else’s. Please don’t do that! It’s important to understand that everyone changes at a different rate and in different ways. If you stay consistent with your nutrition and your workouts, the results will come!
